Reviewer and referee of national and international research projects, journal papers (journal editorial board member) and books.

Involved in national and international research programmes and consultancy in soil sciences, crop production and agricultural education.

Recipient of several academic awards and scholarships including New Zealand Queen's Honours (Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit).

Special Professor (International), Khon Kaen University, Thailand; External Assessor, Professorial Promotion, Universiti  Putra, Malaysia.
