Business Management
Study in Business Management offers entry into an exciting and rewarding international career for those people wanting to be challenged and who are looking for opportunities for personal growth.
Research and teaching in the field of Business Management at Lincoln University covers a wide range of management areas: those majoring in Business Management are able to focus on fields as diverse as Business and Sustainability, Business Strategy, International Management, Human Resource Management or Production and Quality Management.
Starting with Introduction to Management in the first year, course options grow through Human Resource Management, Leadership and Decision Making, Operations Management and Materials Management through to the third year options.
Students may go on to Post Graduate study at the Honours level, MCM (Master of Commerce and Management), MPS (Master of Professional Studies) and PhD. Non-commerce graduates may also enter the PG programme to take a Graduate or Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma. A PG Diploma may be converted to an entry into the MCM Programme - thesis only - if a suitable grade average is attained.
Staff are engaged in research across the full range of areas including Human Resource Management, Corporate Governance, Leadership, Manufacturing Processes, Cross Cultural Management and Sustainable Management.

Marketing
Marketing was first established at Lincoln University three decades ago by Professor Owen McCarthy.
During the last 20 years, the curriculum in marketing has expanded and Lincoln University now offers a full complement of marketing courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including postgraduate teaching leading to honours, postgraduate diploma, masters and PhD degrees.
While the original focus of the Marketing group was commodities, today staff are involved in teaching and researching across all marketing areas.
The group teaches courses leading to a marketing major in all of the Commerce degrees. Dr. Mark M.J. Wilson specialises in logistics and supply chain management; Michael Clemes's speciality area is services marketing; Dr. Kamal Ghose's speciality area is brand and marketing management; Dr. Sharon Forbes specialises in consumer behaviour and marketing; Dr. David Dean's specialities are sales management and international marketing; Dr. David A. Cohen specialises in promotions management; Dr. Valerie Manna specialises in product development and business ethics whilst Associate Professor Charley Lamb specialises in marketing research.
The Lincoln University BCom Supply Chain Management major is the first and only New Zealand university major accredited by CIPS, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
