Short-Tailed Bat

  • Field trials show that bats are not likely to feed on baits (Lloyd 2001)
  • A monitoring programme by capture of 269 bats and holding them for 11 days after a 1080 operation, showed none of the bats had symptoms of 1080 poisoning (Lloyd & McQueen 2002)
  • Probably therefore minimal risk
