The Department of Financial and Business Systems is responsible for the Bachelor of Commerce major in Accounting and Finance and is involved in the Bachelor of Commerce (Information Technology).
At the postgraduate level staff are involved in the Masters of Business (Accounting and Finance) and the Masters of International Rural Development (Finance). Staff in the department also supervise a number of Masters and PhD students carrying out research in accounting and finance.
The programmes and courses taught by the Department focus on how firms develop and use financial and business systems to create value in the context of Lincoln’s land-based speciality.
The Bachelor of Commerce major in Accounting and Finance provides a pathway into internationally recognised professional bodies including the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) and Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia.
