In association with Canterbury Basketball, Lincoln University introduced basketball as a full scholarship sport in 2013.
Lincoln University’s Cricket Scholarship Programme was established in 1998 in conjunction with the Canterbury Cricket Association.
Students of exceptional ability in sports other than the codes already covered by our scholarship programme are encouraged to apply for the Elite Sports Scholarship.
The Lincoln University Hockey Scholarship Programme, established in 2000, operates in conjunction with Canterbury Hockey.
In association with Netball Mainland, Lincoln University established its netball scholarship programme in 1999.
Lincoln University developed its Rugby Union Scholarship Programme in 1999 in conjunction with the Crusaders.
Lincoln University’s Rowing Scholarship Programme was established in 2010 in conjunction with the Canterbury Rowing Association.
Richie McCaw entered the University as an Excellence Scholar in 1999 to study for a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and was awarded a rugby sports scholarship soon after. The fourth generation of his family to enrol at Lincoln, he made his All Blacks debut in 2001. In recognition of his illustrious rugby career and contribution to sport, Lincoln University awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in Natural Resources in 2012.Learn more about Lincoln
