Science programmes at Lincoln are unique.
They emphasise the science that underlies not just production, but ‘production with protection’.
Our scientific knowledge, research and teaching are directed at the sustainable management and conservation of our key natural resources: our land, water, air and energy; and our biotic (living) resource.
Instead of being discipline-based, the BSc at Lincoln is ‘context-based’. For example, instead of studying plant science as a discipline, you will study it in an applied context e.g. in Conservation and Ecology, or Agricultural Biotechnology and Biochemistry. Or you may study chemistry or physics in the context of managing soil and water resources.
