Vehicle usage and parking on campus must comply with the applicable restrictions or the vehicle users will be subject to enforcement measures.
Parking is administered by the Traffic Coordinator (ext.7898) and after hours by Allied Security (ext.9999).  Any questions should be addressed to

Visitor parking

Visitors should use the visitors’ car park inside Gate 1 on Ellesmere Junction Road, adjacent to the George Forbes Building.  If there are no available spaces in the visitors’ car park, visitors may use the Orchard staff and students car park accessible through Gate 3 on Springs Road.  Visitors must display a short-term parking coupon available from the main reception in the George Forbes Memorial Building, or alternatively leave their business card on the dashboard of the vehicle.

Permits for staff and students

Students and staff must apply for parking permits, available from the Traffic Co-ordinator’s office, Room 007, Lincworks Property Services, Farm Road between 12.30pm and 1.00pm. Car registration forms (PDF 212KB) can be downloaded or are available from the main reception in George Forbes Memorial Building.

A more detailed parking guide map (PDF) shows the designated parking areas for students, staff and visitors.

Parking and traffic restrictions

Any vehicle users who do not comply with the University’s Vehicle Registration and Traffic Statute (PDF) are subject to the range of enforcement measures prescribed in the Statute, including fines, clamping of vehicles, and towing of vehicles. A summary document (PDF 220KB) is also available.

How do I appeal a parking or traffic infringement ticket?

If you receive a traffic infringement ticket which you consider to be unwarranted, you may appeal contacting the Traffic Coordinator, who will consider your explanation of why the ticket should be waived and communicate the decision back to you.
You must have a genuine reason as a basis for the appeal. Insufficient grounds for making an appeal include:
  • Being unaware of the traffic and parking restrictions
  • Being unable to find an authorised park
  • For a student or staff member, failing to display a current parking permit
  • For a visitor, failing to display a current visitor’s parking coupon or business card.

Should the Traffic Coordinator decline your initial appeal, you may then make a final written appeal to the University Council.
The appeal must be in the form specified by section 17 of the Vehicle Registration and Traffic Statute 2011 and be lodged within 21 calendar days of the Infringement Notice to: Vice-Chancellor, Appeals Committee of Council, PO Box 85084, Lincoln University 7647.
