Full-time and Part-time Study

Be flexible in your learning, find out about our full- and part-time study options.

At Lincoln we endeavour to deliver courses at times that meet the needs of our students whether they are juggling study with full-time employment, or are studying with us full-time.

Full-time sudy
Full-time study is normally considered to be 120 credits (or eight courses of 15 credits each) per year.  If you are an international student, you need to take at least three courses per semester to be considered full-time;  part-time study is not normally approved by Immigration New Zealand for international students.

Part-time sudy
Part-time study is available to New Zealand citizens, permanent residents and Australian citizens. One, two or three courses per semester is generally considered to be studying part-time. Some programmes are specifically designed to be part-time. These include the Executive Development Programme, the Regional Diploma and secondary school programmes which are run off-campus.

To find out whether your chosen qualification can be taken part-time, contact our Student Administration team.
