FAQs
How do I know if my graduation application has been received?
If you apply to graduate online, an application summary will appear at the end of the process confirming the application has been submitted. If you apply via a hardcopy form, write your name and address on the receipt card that comes with the form and send it back to us. When we receive it, we will datestamp the card and send it back to you.
Can I request additional guest tickets for the ceremony?
Please email the Graduation Officer (paula.morrison@lincoln.ac.nz) to request additional tickets. We will attempt to accommodate your request. Additional tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. If successful, your tickets will either be posted out to you, in a separate mailing from the allocated tickets, or they can be collected from Main Reception at the university.
What do I do if my guests have special seating requirements?
If you or your guests have special seating requirements or need assistance to walk onto the stage, please contact the Graduation Officer - tel: +64 3 325 2811 ext 8561 or email (paula.morrison@lincoln.ac.nz).

Can I change the name that will appear on my parchment?
The name that will appear on your parchment is the legal name currently held on record by Lincoln University. Asian students may specify in which order their name should appear. If your name is different or has been changed we will need to see one of the following:
- Verified copy of a birth certificate
- Passport
- Change of name by deed poll
- Marriage certificate
What do I do if I am receiving more than one qualification?
If you are eligible to receive two qualifications you have to complete applications, regardless of whether you are graduating 'in person' or 'in absentia'.
If you are receiving two awards at the same ceremony you will be allocated two seats. After receiving your first award, return to the seat allocated for your second award – you will be directed to the correct seat by the Marshalls.
