Open Day confirms ‘pulling power’ of Canterbury education

12 July 2005

Lincoln University's Open Day has confirmed the "pulling power" of Canterbury tertiary institutions, says Marketing Manager Sarah Hannan.

"Around 500 prospective students and family members from throughout the country attended this week's Open Day and the geographic spread of visitors - from Kaikohe in Northland to Invercargill in Southland - shows that Lincoln is seen as a truly national university".

Timed to coincide with the first week of the school holidays, the Open Day featured general course information sessions, opportunities for individual course advice, tours of facilities and a free music concert with New Zealand hip hop star Ladi6. The theme was "Be a student for a day".

"It was particularly pleasing to see so many family groups on-campus with parents taking a very supportive interest in their children's future tertiary plans," says Ms Hannan.
