Performance Based Research Fund results

04 May 2007

The Performance Based Research Fund is a system to allocate funding.  The goal is to support excellent research in the tertiary sector by assessing staff research portfolios, research degree completions and external research income.

Today's announcement is a positive result for Lincoln University which is a research led institution.

Lincoln University will receive the largest net percentage increase in PBRF funding (64.6%). Lincoln University has one of the highest PBRF funding allocations per full-time staff member.

Lincoln University is very pleased that a higher number of staff have been recognised for research performance.  The number of staff ranked in each of the A, B or C categories has increased and is consistent with the national pattern.  Internationally recognised "A" level academics have increased in number at the University by an impressive 57%.

Overall the substantial research funding increase of $2,987,943 under the PBRF funding regime reflects the high percentage of research-active staff at Lincoln University and their excellent performance nationally and internationally.
