Lincoln University’s annual Employment Expo has taken on expanded form this year as a result of Christchurch’s earthquakes.
The Expo, which takes place today (11 May), brings together for the first time Lincoln University and CPIT. It is, therefore, the Lincoln University/CPIT Employment Expo.
Following the February shake, various classes from CPIT re-located to Lincoln University and so the two institutions have combined to present this year’s careers event.
“Primarily it’s because students from CPIT’s health sciences, ICT and Commerce programmes are currently having their classes on the Lincoln University campus, so it makes sense to have the careers expo here too and bring it together with Lincoln University’s annual event,” says Employment and Industry Liaison Group Manager Michelle Ash, of Lincoln University.
“It means the number of exhibitors has expanded, with a number of employers coming to Lincoln for the first time.”
The Expo is open between 10.30am – 2.30pm and the venue is the Lincoln University Recreation centre on Calder Drive on the campus.
“The Expo is a great opportunity for all students at all levels of study to meet employers and develop networks, to find out more about employment opportunities, and to explore career options.
Exhibitors at this year’s combined expo include - AbacusBio, Ballance Agri-Nutrients, BNZ, Canterbury Business Association, Cookie Time, CPA, Cropmark Seeds, FMG, Gen-i, Jade Software Corporation, Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme, Landcorp Farming, Life Technologies, Mainfreight, MindSpace Solutions, National Bank, Royal New Zealand Air Force, New Zealand Army, Immigration NZ, Plant and Food Research, PowerHouse Ventures, Ravensdown, Royal New Zealand Navy, Telogis Research, and Stickmen Studios.
