Greening the rubble

07 February 2011

ASKOTomorrow (8 February 2011) landscape architecture students, staff and graduates from the University, alumni, industry professionals and volunteers will be showcasing their work on Canterbury Biodiversity’s project - “Greening the Rubble” with a little help from the Canterbury Crusaders.

The site of the project is the old ASKO home ware store, on the corner of Victoria and Salisbury Street. The building was condemned as a result of the September earthquake. Using recycled materials left over from the demolition and donated goods from Canterbury businesses; the team has created a temporary green space on the once vacant lot.

The Crusaders will be joining the collaborative group which includes staff and students from the School of Landscape Architecture (SoLA), landscape architects and other community-minded businesses in celebrating the success of the project.

This event is free open to the public.
