Skill shortage brings new opportunities in IT this summer

17 October 2011

The information technology industry is crying out for skilled workers at the moment. For example, New Zealand's biggest software exporter, Orion Health, says it could hire up to 200 extra staff in New Zealand following its acquisition of Microsoft's hospital software assets.

If IT is an area you want to get into, you can start on our one-year diplomas or three-year degree in the November Summer School.  Summer School IT courses use pre-recorded lectures so you can study in your own time and, with the right software, you can also do the labs away from campus.  You are welcome on campus for lab classes, or at other times for individual help.

If you have completed a degree in any discipline you can start in November and complete a Graduate Diploma in S & IT in just one year.  This is a great way to make a worthwhile career change.  Whether you are in work or still studying, there has never been a better time to get started in IT.
