Lincoln University hosted a high level delegation of Indian Vice-Chancellors, providing an opportunity to showcase the University’s campus and facilities, and explore areas of collaboration.
The visiting Indian Vice-Chancellors were:
- Professor A.N. Rai, North Eastern Hill University
- Professor Dinesh Singh, University of Delhi
- Professor R. Ramaswamy, University of Hyderabad
- Professor Rajan Welukar, University of Mumbai
- Professor Surabhi Banerjee, Central University of Orissa
Lincoln University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Roger Field hosted the delegation and discussed how Lincoln University could work closer with the five universities.
“Lincoln University is known internationally for the high numbers of students from around the globe, with over 60 nationalities represented here, choosing to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level. We already have a number of students from India, and there is ample opportunity to cooperate, particularly in the areas of agriculture and research.
“Having the five Indian Vice-Chancellors on campus allowed the University to showcase our strength in land-based specialist education, our approach to indigenous tertiary education and our sports scholarships success – all applicable to the Indian education market.”
While on campus, the delegation visited New Zealand Cricket’s High Performance Centre, the Bert Sutcliffe Oval and Asia Pacific Football Academy, Lincoln University and based at the University. They also visited the Lincoln University Dairy Farm where they were shown around the South Island Dairying Development Centre.
