Lincoln University re-opened today, 15 June 2011, and welcomed returning staff and students to campus.
Structural Engineers have been on site since Tuesday morning and have not revealed any structural issues.
Full services are available throughout the University. Additional counselling services have been provided, and the Medical Centre and Chaplaincy are also available during their normal operating hours.
All examinations scheduled for today proceeded as planned. The original Examination timetable remains in effect. Students who were affected by Monday’s earthquakes have the opportunity to apply for an aegrotat, allowing Examiners to recognise the earthquakes’ impacts on their performance.
Lincoln University’s Telford Division, based in Balclutha, remained open on Tuesday and all Telford Division teaching delivery in the Canterbury region remains available.
All facilities provided to our tenants are also fully operational.
The University will host the weekly Rialto film series this evening, Wednesday (15 June), by screening Lovely, Still at 7.30pm in Stewart Lecture Theatre One.
We recognise that the last 48 hours have been demanding on everyone in the region. We wish to thank all those involved in restoring the University to its normal operations, and we send our best wishes to everyone affected by Monday’s earthquakes as we continue to work through the recovery process.
