Members of the European Parliament visited Lincoln University last week and were given an overview of Lincoln University and discussed New Zealand and Europe joint-interests with regards to agriculture, common agricultural policy, dairy farming and tourism.
The visiting members were:
- Mr Richard Ashworth, from the United Kingdom
- Mr Alajos Mészáros, from the Slovakia
- Mr Hannu Takkula, from Finland
- Mr Michael Cramer, from Germany
Addressing the delegation were Chancellor Tom Lambie, Assistant Vice-Chancellor Associate Professor Stefanie Rixecker, Professor Bruce McKenzie and Professor David Simmons.
The delegation was in New Zealand for the 18th EU-New Zealand interparliamentary meeting.
While on campus the delegation also visited the Lincoln University Dairy Farm where they were shown around the South Island Dairying Development Centre.
