Great news for people with type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and cancer. A research team lead by Lincoln University’s Charles Brennan found that alternative flours such as millet can lower carbohydrate digestibility, which is linked to glycaemic impact.

Congratulations to Sebastian Doelle who has been awarded the 2011 Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society Undergraduate prize for New Zealand.  Sebastian plans to present a paper, and receive his award at the 2012 AARES conference in Fremantle in February.
