Tourism: Excellence in science to inform policy and practice.

Tourism, Business & Communities LogoTourism is an integral component of our land, our environment and our communities. For over 25 years researchers at Lincoln University have developed expertise in the areas of tourism policy and planning, environmental management, and parks and protected natural areas. New expertise includes research on climate change, wine and heritage tourism, and tourism in emerging destinations including the Polar Regions.

We work with many New Zealand agencies including TIANZ, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Transport, EECA, SPARC and DOC, among others. Internationally we work with agencies such as UNWTO, UNEP, UNDP, WWF particularly in South-East Asia and the Pacific.
