If you were asked to name your favourite native plants, what would be your answer and what would be your reason?
The Isaac Centre for Nature Conservation annual top ten New Zealand native plant survey has been conducted since 2002. Based on a similar project carried out in Britain by the conservation organisation Plantlife, the aim is to help raise a greater awareness of native plants. Previously the survey has been conducted through Forest and Bird Magazine and supported by the Department of Conservation.
As from 2005 the survey is carried out in conjunction with the New Zealand Plant Conservation Network (www.nzpcn.org.nz) using the Network's on-line voting system.
