Hot Topic: Disaster risk reduction

Disaster Risk Reduction is a growth research area at Lincoln University, with projects and research students and staff found in all three faculties.

The research need has been highlighted by the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011, but also by recent Indian Ocean and Pacific tsunamis. Lincoln’s research spans topics from community recovery after an earthquake, to soil liquefaction and stability, to reducing the risk from climate induced disasters within a global context. There are many opportunities for post graduate study in this area.
