Tourism, Communities and Enterprise

Tourism is an integral component of our land, our environment and our communities.

For over 25 years researchers at Lincoln University have developed expertise in the areas of tourism policy and planning, environmental management, and parks and protected natural areas. New expertise includes research on climate change, agri-food tourism, wine, heritage tourism, cruise tourism, polar tourism and emerging markets such as the Asian market.

Currently there are four tourism research groups:

* Tourism, disaster, risk and resilience

We work with many New Zealand agencies including TIANZ, Ministry of Tourism, EECA, SPARC and DOC, in additional to local authorities, city councils and trusts. Internationally we work with agencies such as UNWTO, UNEP, UNDP, WWF and WMO.
