Halls of residence application process

How do I apply?

Photo of students walking in front of Hudson HallIf you want to live on-campus you should apply as soon as possible, even before you have been accepted into a course of study. You can apply online at http://www.lincoln.ac.nz/bookaccommodation

The closing date for applications for New Zealand students is 1st October in the year prior to when accommodation is required. If you need to apply later than this date please contact the Accommodation Administrator and we will see what we can do!

International students have until 10th December in the year prior to when accommodation is required, to submit their applications.

Late applications will be considered if there are rooms available.

What happens then?

Your application is assessed. Strong consideration is given to the confidential reference provided by your referee. This does not apply to international students or students who have previously resided in the halls.

You will be notified as soon as possible if a place is available.

Acceptance

You will need to send an initial payment of NZD$475.00 with your Residential Agreement to secure your place.

NZD$75.00 of this covers administration costs and is non-refundable. The NZD$400 is the contingency fee (see fees section).

When can I move in?

Normally that would be February, for 2011 it will be the 23rd of  February. If you want to do so earlier you need to contact the Accommodation Administrator.

More details will be sent to you about a specific time of day for your arrival as this will depend on which hall you are allocated.

What do I need to bring?

We recommend that you bring the following things with you:

  • Tea towels, bath towels, bath mats
  • Cups, eating utensils, plates (Catered Halls residents only) for use in room for snacks.
