Nursery daily routine

In the nursery (infants and toddlers under two years), we set up our environment to cater for the needs, interests and abilities of the children attending each day. Free play small group activities are promoted with a variety of learning experiences on offer operating alongside our flexible routine.   

8.00am Lincoln University Early Childhood Centre opens
8.00am-11.00am

• Greet children, parents, whanau and staff as they arrive.
• Breakfast for children who need it as they arrive.
• Rolling morning tea for those who have not already eaten.
• Nappies/bottles and sleep routines as required.
• Toddler transition. (Toddlers may have morning tea and their nappies changed in the Over 2’s as part of their transition).

11.00am-12.30pm

• Rolling lunch.
• Nappies/bottles and sleep routines as required.
• Farewell children and parents from the morning session.

12.30pm end of morning session/start of afternoon session 

12.30pm - 4.00pm

• Greet parents and children as they arrive for the afternoon session.
• Lunch for children who need it as they arrive.
• Nappies/bottles and sleep routines continue as required.
• Rolling afternoon tea.
• Toddler transition.

4.00pm - 5.00pm

• Late snack.
• Tidy, disinfect and put away toys.
• Farewell children and parents.
