Who are we here for?
Anyone, students, staff and faculty, regardless of your faith background. We are appointed through the Christian churches, but you don’t need religious affiliation to receive our support. We are here to accompany you according to your need.
Our services are free, confidential and independent.
Feel free to drop in to the office, or email to make a time to meet, or just say ‘Hi’ as you see us around campus.
What we offer
We offer pastoral and spiritual support to students and staff.
This might mean:
- An informal chat
- A listening ear to talk over personal, work, or study-related concerns
- Pastoral support during times of crisis, stress, or anxiety e.g bereavement/grief homesickness, loneliness, family or relationship issues
- Guidance for your spiritual journey – talking over issues of life and faith. Prayer support
- Help with weddings, funerals/memorial services, house blessings, other pastoral rituals
- Support for Christian groups on-campus – students and staff
- Organising times for prayer/worship on-campus
- Helping with non-medical aegrotat applications
- Practical help such as warm winter clothing
Who we are
Glenda Hicks, Senior Chaplain.
Glenda is an ordained minister in the Anglican church. She is on campus three days a week (every day over exams),and can be bribed with chocolate.
Michael Cooke, Associate Chaplain.
Michael speaks Mandarin and Japanese. He fits his chaplaincy role around mentoring students for the Inclusive Education department.
Ani Kartikasari, Associate Chaplain for post grads.
Ani is a Lincoln doctoral graduate in environmental science. Originally from Indonesia, she now lives in Christchurch with her husband and 2 teenage sons.
Roger Clibborn, Associate chaplain, internationals
Roger has been involved in mission work in Asia, as well as ESOL teaching in Indonesia and Christchurch. With his wife, Wanaka, he lives in Rolleston.

Location: Hudson Hall 101 and 102, which are on the first floor at the southern-most end. Best access point is via the stairs opposite Inclusive Education.
Catholic Chaplaincy
is located at Kolbe House near Canterbury University.
Mass is offered at Lincoln on Fridays during term time in the Prayer Room at 12.30 pm.
