The Student Learning Centre is part of Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) and aims to foster the pursuit of excellence at Lincoln University by giving students the opportunity to:
- Maximise their potential,
- Enhance their general academic skills, and
- Become successful independent learners.
Our experienced professional teaching staff work with students from all courses and levels.
The Student Learning Centre offers:
- Workshops (e.g Academic Writing, Effective Learning, English Language, Statistics, Thesis and Dissertation)
- Individual or small group appointments
- Drop-in sessions
- Bridging tutoring (e.g Mathematics and Statistics)
- Resources for independent study.
As a Lincoln student you will also have access to the web resource, Learn @ Lincoln which is managed by TLS. Learn @ Lincoln allows you to access helpful learning resources such as lecture notes, previous exams and lecture schedules.
The Student Learning Centre can also help with study resources for postgraduate students to help you conduct, write and present your research.
Orientation Learning Support
The Student Learning Centre provides a number of workshops and sessions to help you settle into life on-campus.
These include:
- New Start programme for mature students
- Academic Survival workshops (include topics such as Adapting to University Life, Study Skills and Learning Styles, Making the Most of Lectures, and Writing at University level)
- Studying in New Zealand workshop (for international students).
