Photography

I provide a photographic service to the university and support digital imaging on campus. If you have questions about these subjects you may find useful information on these pages. If you don’t find what you are looking for, please contact me.
At Lincoln, many staff and postgraduates undertake their own photography. I provide help and support when appropriate and I take photographs for people when they prefer. I charge for materials and consumables I use in the course of work I undertake for clients, but apart from these consumables costs there is no charge for photography work at Lincoln.
I carry out nearly all work using a Nikon D200 camera. This generates a 10 Megapixel file, which, saved as a high quality JPEG usually results in a 4-5 MB file. If required I can prepare multiple versions of images, suitable for insertion in a Word document or a PowerPoint presentation.
I use a Canon Pixma Pro9500 photo-quality inkjet printer with which I can produce photographic quality prints. I also liaise with photographic laboratories in Christchurch for film processing if required, and the production of photographic prints from digital files.
People interested in learning more about digital photography may like to check out the digital imaging page.
I have also prepared a general document, which may be of interest to people who wish to record their experimental work:
