How to purchase a mobile phone

Please note from 1 November 2009 it is against New Zealand law to use your cell phone in the car without the appropriate wireless technology, however, it is University Policy that you do not use your cell phone while driving.

 

Ordering the Lincoln University staff phone/new connection

Once you have decided which model handset you would like (see below), and which plan is best suited to your expected usage (see below), then please have your divisional administrator email ithelp@lincoln.ac.nz with:

  • Your name, phone and email
  • A charge code for the Purchase
  • A charge code for the ongoing costs
  • Plan type (Tahi or Go Zero - See below)
  • The type of phone you wish to order (see below)
  • Data plan excluded unless specifically requested (and approved by your Manager)

Choosing a Lincoln University staff plan

All new phones will be on the XT Network.

 

Plans 

1.  Tahi:  This plan has a monthly access fee but lower call charges than the Go Zero plan, so is best for people who make a large number of calls.

2.  Go-zero:  The Go Zero plan has no monthly access fee but higher call charges than the Tahi plan, so is best for people who make few calls.

3. $10 TXT is available on both plans and is charged on top of your plan pricing.

Samsung Galaxy Y

Cost: $216.52 plus data package at an additional $12 per month if email is required.
