31 August 2010 This morning (31 Aug) one of our file servers experienced disk errors. This has impacted access to the following services: Scan2Linc, Scan2Library, Camtasia, and T: & Y: drives (for those that have these).

Service Disruption: Shared Drives
24 August 2010 Some systems might not be working this morning (24th August 2010) due to a technical issue that occurred last light. The issue was a result of planned maintenance work commenced at 20:00 last night. It did not go as planned. ITS Infrastructure staff worked through the night to resolve the issue.
Update:
Majority of services are now fully operational and work is underway to resolve issues identified. There will be a further update at 16:00 today.

Service Outage - Learn / Moodle
14 June 2010 On Saturday afternoon part of the software that provides Learn to students failed; as this was a partial failure Learn did not fail over to our backup server.
When one of our engineers became aware of the outage steps were taken to fix the problem. This incident is now being reviewed to see if our systems and support processes can be improved to better address such issues.
We appreciate that this occurred during a heavy period of exam preparation and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

08 June 2010 The work previously scheduled for 6.00pm Tuesday 15th June has been brought forward to this coming Sunday, the 13th, between 8.30am and 10.00am. The scope of work has been increased and there WILL NOW BE an outage to on-campus Web browsing between 8.30am and 10.00am ON SUNDAY.

Eset nod32
02 February 2010 From tomorrow morning ITS will be distributing the new Eset nod32 Anti-virus to all campus desktop computers. The removal of Sophos and automatic installation of nod32 will happen when you next login, so ITS recommends that you logout this evening before leaving work. There are a few differences between the products, but the most obvious change is the replacement of the Sophohs Blue Shield with a small rotating green "sonar" icon in the system tray.
