Poor Web Performance Issue - THIS ISSUE HAS NOW BEEN RESOLVED
24 January 2012
SNAP made some planned network changes early this morning (around 4 am). As a result of which it would seem that we have lost access to the SNAP-hosted Akamai content delivery servers. This causes some web sites time out, render strangely and have other problems.
Snap have been advised of the problem and ITS have told them a resolution is urgent. We have no ETA for a resolution as yet.
THIS ISSUE HAS NOW BEEN RESOLVED.

Student Email Outage
09 September 2011 At approximately 4pm today (9th Sept) Microsoft came under a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) attack, this has resulted in our students being unable to access their Microsoft hosted Student Email.
At time of testing we established that email was still being delivered and any forwarding rules in place were still working as designed.
Microsoft will be giving this their utmost attention, and we envisage a timely restoration of service.

PRINT & COPY SERVICES UPDATE !!
01 June 2011 In response to feedback received from staff, the Print Scan and Copy outage has been moved to Mon 27th June Printing, Copying, Scanning, etc will be UNAVAILABLE on Mon 27th June while Uniflow version 5 is installed.
The Linc’s services will operate as normal. You will still be able to queue print jobs, ready for you to swipe your card and release them after the upgrade. Plan to print important material ahead of time. For less important material, this offers an opportunity to make a virtue of necessity and explore ways of getting by with less printing, and so benefit the environment. A two week testing programme in a development environment precedes the Uniflow upgrade, and, as a contingency, rollback plans will be in place to cover the unlikely possibility that they are needed to ensure printing will be available again on Tue 28th June. This is one important step in a project to refresh Lincoln’s Print and Copy Services. A pilot deployment of new MFD devices into Hilgendorf and Hilgendorf Extension follows shortly after the upgrade, with further deployments in the August break and the final deployments in late November.
For more information, please visit the project website: http://learn.lincoln.ac.nz/learn/course/view.php?id=2199 (staff) http://learn.lincoln.ac.nz/learn/course/view.php?id=2200 (postgraduates)

When your Windows 7 migration day approaches, your faculty or department administrator will ask you to register through them for one of the available 2 hour introductory training sessions. The sessions are held in Forbes F031, next to the bookshop. It is important that you register with your Administrator for a training session at least one week ahead of time; and attend.
