General Information

Student Health and Support is now accepting registrations for new patients. Register now.
Some examples of the kinds of things they can help you with are:
  • Health assessments for illness or injury
  • Health advice and education
  • Medical reports
  • Immunisation
  • Sexual health and contraception
  • Minor surgery
  • Counselling and mental health concerns
  • International student advice (anything from personal, social, cultural, educational, legal, or financial)
  • Aegrotat assessments.
And if you’re moving into the halls, or even a flat with friends, we support the NZ Ministry of Health recommendation that you get immunised for Meningitis C.  Click here to find out why.
Even if you’re not sure whether they are the right people to talk to, get in touch. They work collaboratively with all of the University’s support services, so they’ll be able to point you in the right direction.
All discussions with Student Health are strictly confidential.

How to Register at Student Health

Students are not automatically enrolled in the Health Centre, even if you have paid your Student Services Levy.
Domestic students
Registration reassigns your government health funding to us from your previous GP and is essential to receive heavily subsidised student healthcare at Lincoln University. We strongly suggest you also have a WINZ issued community services card and your Lincoln University student ID card.
To register:
  1. Please download an enrolment form
  2. Complete the form in black pen and post it to Student Health and Support or fax it to 03 325 3881.
  3. We will contact you if your form is not legible once printed.
International students
If you are an international student visiting the Health Centre, you do not have to pre-register (although it's easier if you do).
To register:
  1. Please download the international enrolment form and the Studentsafe Direct Billing Check List.
  2. Complete the forms in black pen and post them to Student Health and Support or fax it to 03 325 3881.
  3. We will contact you if your forms are not legible once printed to meet enrolment criteria.
Casual patients 
To register as a casual patient:
  1. Please download the casual patient registration form.
  2. Complete the form in black pen and post it to Student Health and Support or fax it to 03 325 3881.
  3. We will contact you if your form is not legible once printed to meet enrolment criteria.
Before coming to see us, please read your insurance policy carefully to ensure your condition is covered.
When you visit the Health Centre, the cost of your appointment can be billed directly to your insurance company if you have used Allianz (studentsafe). Without this approved insurance provider, you will be required to pay up front at the Health Centre and claim the costs back through your insurance company.


For domestic students, if you enrol with Student Health and Support as your Primary Health Organisation (PHO) you can save money on your consultations. To do this, you’ll need to fill out an enrolment form, and read about enrolling with a general practice.

For international students, if you choose to register with Student Health and Support and have student safe insurance, we are able to bill the insurance provider directly.

** Studentsafe accounts are able to be direct billed.

A billing fee of $10 will be added to all accounts if account is not paid within 7 days.

About Us

During term time, we are open from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Monday to Friday. During Summer School and semester breaks, we are open from 9.00am to 12.00pm (or by arrangement) on Monday to Friday.

After Hours Care

In an emergency call for an ambulance, dial 111.
For after-hours medical care telephone 325 3835. You will speak to a nurse who will give you professional advice in regard to your care.
