Settling in
So this is your first year.
You're bound to have questions.
Our week long orientation is where you'll find all the answers.
You can meet our staff and other new students and find out about the services, facilities and support available at the University.
A series of half-day workshops are also run during the week as part of our Academic Survival Course.
They are designed to help you gear up for your first weeks at Lincoln and include topics such as:
Adapting to university life
Study skills and learning styles
Making the most of lectures
Writing at university level.
Make sure you attend the session entitled 'what every student needs to know'.
We also run a programme called New Start for mature students for students who have had a break from education for a number of years.
There are also activities and information sessions specifically for sports scholarship students.
You can find out more from Teaching and Learning Services.
There are also a number of course orientations for new students. This is where you can meet the teaching staff, and to learn about the structure and content of your course.
You are also welcome to take our campus tour which provides information on how to find your way around, key support services and who to see for help.
