“I didn’t want to close off my options just because I hadn’t settled on a specific career path, and I felt a BSc at Lincoln would provide me with a wide range of choices and potential for a broader qualification overall,” she says. “The courses Lincoln offers provide good scope for finding something that interests you.”

Bianca enjoys the outdoors and has a strong interest in the environment, which led her to select “environmental science” as her degree major.

“I want to be conducting a lot of my work outside the office and deal with environmental issues at the coal-face,” she says.

Environmental research is increasing in its significance and global relevance to people’s daily lives, and Bianca says she feels motivated knowing her skills and knowledge will be readily applicable when she graduates.

“I’m hoping I can make an impact on how we interact with the environment,” she says.

As a Future Leaders Scholarship recipient, Bianca undertakes a range of leadership and volunteer roles outside of her studies. She is also a member of the Lincoln Environmental Organisation, which aims to promote environmental sustainability both on-campus and in the wider community.

Bianca says the sociable campus atmosphere and welcoming staff make Lincoln the ideal place to study.

“You aren’t just another face in the crowd. I think Lincoln treats you like a person,” she says.
