Choosing your courses wisely while at school can greatly assist you when studying at tertiary level in the future. The right choice now will best prepare you to achieve University Entrance requirements needed for a Degree or Diploma and you may find the content of University study easier due to familiarity of the work and content.
Priority should be made in choosing NCEA subjects that are APPROVED to gain University Entrance. A list of approved courses can be found on the NZQA website: www.nzqa.govt.nz.
Entrance requirements into Lincoln University differ depending on whether you want to study a Degree or a Diploma.
University entrance requirements for studying a degree
NCEA Level 1 - 14 Credits Maths
NCEA Level 2 - 4 Credits Reading, 4 Credits Writing (approved)
NCEA Level 3 - Total of 42 credits (14 approved course, 14 approved course and 14 in no more than 2 other courses.

Entrance requirements for studying a diploma
NCEA Level 1 – 14 Credits Maths
NCEA Level 2 – A total of 40 credits over 4 courses approved by Lincoln University including 4 Credits Reading & 4 Credits Writing.
Below is a list of all the approved courses for entrance into our Diploma programmes. However applicants that have taken courses other than those listed may be considered on a case by case basis.
