Is university different from school?
University is very different from school. One of the main differences is that you take responsibility for your own learning. Lecturers and tutors are there to facilitate your education and the rest is up to you!
There are more people at university. Lincoln University has approximately 4500 students on-campus, with first year lecture sizes ranging from 30 to 350 students.
There are different teaching methods at University. Your timetable is made up of lectures, tutorials and labs, depending on your course of study.
Your contact time spent at university each week depends on your course timetable but is usually around 20 hours per week. The rest of the time can be managed by you to spend time reading, researching and working on assignments.
