Part-time

Students in one of the upstairs study areasPart-time study is only available to domestic students. One, two or three courses per semester is generally considered to be studying part-time.

Some programmes are specifically designed to be part-time. These include the Executive Development Programme, the Regional Diploma and secondary school programmes which are run off-campus.

Several degree level courses are offered through secondary schools to enable senior students to make the transition from learning at school to learning at university level and in the process, to gain credits toward a university degree qualification.

In other cases we endeavour to deliver courses at times that meet the needs of our students juggling study with full-time employment.

If you decide to study part-time you will not qualify for student allowances or some of the student loan provisions.

It will also take longer for you to complete your course.

Credit EFT relationship

All Lincoln University all courses are given a credit value.  For example the majority of  undergraduate courses are worth 15 credits, whereas the majority of postgraduate courses are worth 20 credits.

The credit value can be converted to EFTS (Equivalent Full-Time Student) using the formula: 120 credits is equal to 1 EFTS.
