Student financial support fund

Students laughingWe recognise financial problems can impact on your ability to study well.

That's why we've established the student financial support fund to support students in need of some help in special or emergency situations, where they are unable to get financial assistance from other sources.

Information is available from sfsf@lincoln.ac.nz .

Who's eligible?

Currently registered Lincoln students who are either a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident may apply for help from the fund.

You will need to demonstrate why you need assistance and provide documentation to support your application.

Assistance available

Because there are only limited funds available:

  •     Any assistance given will be for special or emergency purposes only.
  •     Assistance will only be given if it will help the applicant pursue their course of study
  •     The University may limit the number of times assistance is given to an individual student in any semester, year, or other period.

Note: The University reserves the right to consider academic performance when deciding whether to provide assistance.

There are a variety of assistance options including loans, grants and vouchers such as food and petrol.

How it works

The fund is administered by a committee established by the Vice-Chancellor and includes a student representative.

Students are emailed the decision on their application within a week of the committee sitting.

Appeals

You can appeal their decision.

If you wish to do so, contact the student support fund administrator, student information and enquiries or LUSA.

Confidentiality

All applications and information you provide will remain confidential to student financial support fund staff and committee members.
