Tourism at Lincoln Univeristy

Celebrating 25 years of tourism

Tourism is New Zealand’s top ranked foreign exchange earner, but more than that NZ is consistently recognised as one of the world’s top performing destinations; whether this be in product development and presentation,  brand and marketing management, destination management or visitor experience.  Lincoln University has been at the forefront of this development and holds New Zealand’s longest running tourism education and research programme – celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2010.

For young New Zealanders and global citizens wishing to embark on a professional career in tourism, Lincoln University's programmes (broad experience, staff and development expertise) are for you.

For existing tourism professionals, or those with qualifications from related disciplines, Lincoln University offers a broad suite of postgraduate courses to up-skill and refresh your qualifications.

Lincoln University prides itself on its multidisciplinary research foci and as such the programme has its foundation in the integration of people, places and business.

For the industry, both nationally and globally, Lincoln University has an enviable track record of sector engagement and ‘excellence in research to inform policy and practice’.  Lincoln University and its associated teams of consultants and other academics is New Zealand’s most successful research group within the Government’s tourism research agenda, as funded by the national Foundation for Research Science and technology.
