Mission
The mission of Teaching and Learning Services is to enhance the teaching and learning experience of staff and students at Lincoln University. We do this through:
- Providing individual consulting and small group workshops for staff and students,
- Managing the University's processes for obtaining student ratings of teaching and subject performance, and
- Enabling the development of web-based learning materials.

Student Learning Centre (SLC)
The Student Learning Centre (SLC) works with students of all stages of study, from first year under graduates to postgraduates completing their theses.
The SLC offers workshops, individual or small group appointments, drop-in sessions, bridging tutoring, intensive courses and resources for independent study.
Professional Development
TLS offers professional development for all staff i.e. teaching reviews, teaching portfolio development and workshops for general and academic staff.
Web Based Learning
Learn@lincoln, the University's learning management system aims to enhance learning through the presentation of course material online in a multi-media format. A large proportion of Lincoln subjects have some level of online instructional material. The material can be accessed from both on and off-campus and at all hours of the day and night.
Teaching Evaluations
Student evaluations have become an important ingredient in the quality mechanisms of LU and are an important part of TLS staff development work. Our aim is make the student evaluation process effective by offering a service that is convenient to staff and to keep participation rates high.
