Vice Chancellor's Scholarship for Excellence

Are you a school leaver who excels academically? Learn more about our undergraduate excellence scholarship.

The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for Excellence is open to students of a high academic calibre intending to study for a bachelor's degree.


To be eligible, you must

  • be a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand.
  • have gained NCEA Level Two with an excellence endorsement or equivalent.
  • be entering your first year of tertiary study the year after completing NCEA Level Three plus University Entrance or equivalent.

The scholarship value for each academic year is $6,000, plus a $4,000 stipend. It is tenable for the minimum time required to complete a degree and is conditional on maintaining academic progress.
