Important reminder:
The morning ceremony commences at 10.00am - guests with tickets must be seated by 9.50am.
The afternoon ceremony commences at 2.00pm - guests with tickets must be seated by 1.50pm.

Should there be available seats in the auditorium, guests without tickets will be permitted in at 10.00am and 2.00pm. No one will be let in whilst the stage party and graduands are processing in and on to the stage, or during the National Anthem.

Graduation tickets

You do not need a ticket for yourself.  Tickets are ordered as part of the graduation application process. Guest tickets are posted out two weeks before the Ceremony date. Your tickets will be sent to your permanent address unless you have made alternative arrangements by contacting graduation@lincoln.ac.nz .

Tickets will not be sent to an international address as they will not arrive in time for you. If you have an international address nominated as your ‘permanent’ address your tickets will be held at the University main reception desk, George Forbes, for pickup anytime in the fortnight prior to graduation. On the day your tickets will be taken to the Town Hall venue and can be collected from the reception desk.

How many tickets for guests can I have?

Lincoln will be holding the April 2020 ceremony at the Christchurch Town Hall, a larger venue, which means that we have increased the tickets limit to up to 4 tickets per graduand. You do not need a ticket for yourself.

How do I request extra tickets? (Deadline 1 March)

You can request extra tickets by the deadline of 1 March by forwarding your submit confirmation email to graduation@lincoln.ac.nz and noting the number of extra tickets you require. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request but it will depend on overall numbers at the venue.

You will receive an email prior to the graduation date to confirm the extra tickets requested (ie: in addition to your 4 tickets) are confirmed for you. There is no cost associated with the tickets.

What do I do if I can’t get as many extra tickets as I would like?

Should there be available seats in the auditorium, guests without tickets will be permitted in at 10.00am for the morning ceremony and 2.00pm for the afternoon ceremony.

No one will be let in whilst the stage party and graduands are processing in and on to the stage, or during the National Anthem.

IMPORTANT:

Guests with tickets to the morning ceremony must be seated by 9.50am.

Guests with tickets to the afternoon ceremony must be seated by 1.50pm.

Ceremony live streaming

The Ceremony is live streamed and will remain available after graduation to view on the Lincoln University Website.

Arrangements for young children and mobility-impaired

Recommendations for young children

If you have young children who will not enjoy being seated for up to two hours in a formal ceremony, arranging for a friend or family member to babysit them is a great option. All guests, including children of any age, will require a ticket to the ceremony. Please consider that family members who have to take upset children out of the venue may well miss your important moment.

Arrangements for mobility-impaired

If you need to make arrangements for mobility-impaired family members please email graduation@lincoln.ac.nz before the event so we can advise on options or organise support.

Car parking

View car parking options near the Town Hall, Christchurch. Please allow yourself and your guests plenty of time to arrive.

Tips for enjoying graduation

Dress to your comfort level and layers are key. April - May in Canterbury could mean anything from a bright sunny day to rain with a cold wind.

Graduation gowns do not have pockets so please arrange for someone to carry items for you (eg wallet and mobile).

Consider carrying extra camera batteries if you are bringing a camera. You may take more photos than expected.
