Our research farms
Since our beginnings as an agricultural college, we have been leading research and development for the benefit of the land-based sectors.
We operate two dairy farms, a small high country run, sheep breeding and finishing units. In addition as part of the Faculty of Agricultural and Life Sciences we also have vineyards, hops garden, horticultural research area and plant nursery.
Highlights of the farms include:
- Developing and demonstrating world’s best agricultural practice
- Increasing productivity whilst minimising environmental impacts

- Enhancing welfare for our livestock and the well-being of our staff
