Student Health
On campus, you can find Lincoln University Student Health, which is a General Practice for all LU students.
Student Health is open
Please phone 03 325 3835 for an appointment. You can be seen for a face-to-face consultation but some issues can be managed by phone, particularly if you are at a distance.
Please wear your mask if you attend the centre in person and always let us know if you have any respiratory symptoms, even if this is not the reason for your appointment.
We can arrange a COVID-19 test at Student Health if you need one.
About Student Health
We are a Foundation Accredited Medical Centre with a team of Doctors, Nurses, Counsellors and Administrative Staff.
We will assist you with your health and wellbeing in a supportive, quality, inclusive and non-judgemental environment.

Booking an appointment
Please phone 03 325 3835 to book an appointment. A nurse will be available to discuss your needs and make an appropriate appointment for you.
We are a local service for current Lincoln University students. Please note that some distance learners may not be eligible.
We reserve the right to charge for any missed appointments or late cancellations. If you cannot attend and need to cancel, please phone us well in advance.
Arriving at the centre
When you arrive at the centre, please follow the instructions on the door and text or phone us to notify us that you have arrived. Please note, we may not be able to see you if you arrive late.
After-hours care
If you need urgent health care, please go to an After Hours Clinic (the Riccarton Clinic, Moorhouse Medical Centre or the 24 Hour Surgery).
After hours, our phone is answered by an on-call nurse who can give you advice.
In an emergency, please call 111 for an ambulance.
Enrolment and fees
Enrolment at Lincoln University Student Health is available to any current Lincoln University student who is eligible for funded New Zealand health care. Some distance students may not be eligible.

Enrolling at Lincoln University Student Health gives you access to reduced fees for your appointments and offers the convenience of an on-campus location. Remember, you can only be enrolled at one General Practice in New Zealand at any time.

International students can register to be seen at Lincoln University Student Health for all services. In some cases, family members of international students can also be seen at Lincoln University Student Health. Please discuss your eligibility for this with reception (phone 03 325 3835).
How to Register?
- Download and print an International Student Registration Form
- Complete the form in black or blue ink
- Email the form to healthsupport@lincoln.ac.nz
- Bring your passport and visa with you for your first visit, as we will need to see these documents.

NOTE
For some international students, insurance may cover the cost of your appointment. If you have Student Safe Insurance with the University Policy, then most of your appointments will be directly billed to the insurance company by Student Health.
Please note that some appointments are not covered by insurance, and you will need to pay on the day for these. Check your insurance policy for details on what is and what is not covered.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Information held by Lincoln University Student Health is private and confidential. All Student Health staff are bound by the privacy protocols outlined in the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. Please see the Privacy Commissioner website for more information.
Your medical records are not available to academic staff or other Lincoln University staff. Lincoln University Student Health will only share your health information with other University staff with your consent.
Basic demographic information is shared with some PHO (Primary Health Organisation), MOH (Ministry of Health) and ACC agencies. Relevant medical information is also shared with other Health Agencies/Services if required for your health care.
There are some rare occasions when we are legally required to share some of your medical records without your consent. These occasions only arise if we are concerned that there is an immediate and serious risk of harm to yourself or others.
If you have any concerns or complaints about privacy of information, then please contact the Student Health Privacy Officer.
