A 1602 hectare high-country station located in the Upper Clutha Basin, Central Otago. The station runs fine-wool merino sheep and a small Angus beef herd. Lincoln University was gifted Mt Grand in 1988 following a bequest from Leslie John and Lola June Struthers. The homestead has views across Hawea Flat towards Lake Hawea.
Objective
The station conducts a long-term environmental monitoring programme with six climate stations, hosting research in areas such as soils, water, pest management, and tourism and conservation.

Upper Clutha Basin, Central Otago. Immediately East of Lake Hawea, 400km (5hr drive) from Christchurch. The homestead has views across Hawea Flat towards Lake Hawea.
Tenure
Lincoln University was gifted Mt Grand in 1988 following a bequest from Leslie John and Lola June Struthers. Originally 1,975ha pastoral lease plus 162 freehold. Subsequent to tenure review losing 535 to the conservation estate. Net income is applied to the LJ and LJ Struthers Trust established to benefit High Country Farming.
