Community outreach, education and engagement

As with many aspects of Lincoln University, the Energy Farm will host community education and outreach including:

• Industry partners exploring the use of new and emerging technologies and systems
• Land owners/managers wanting to understand the potential of sustainable energy-agriculture 
• School class visits targeted at sustainability education 
• Community tours and open days – potentially including “pick your own” fruits and vegetables at harvest time

Information boards will be placed within the site, enhancing learning for visitors, and educational activities will be designed by our farms outreach coordinator in collaboration with educators. 

The Energy Farm will add value to the wider Selwyn District community by demonstrating a high-value transformative farm system that is carbon-neutral and biodiverse, with improved fresh-water management.
