Dongho Shin

Studying a diverse range of subjects helped Dongho pick a path for his future.

Originally from South Korea, Dongho moved to New Zealand during high school and became interested in the ‘Farm to Plate’ concept, which ensures every step of the food production process is transparent and socially responsible.

“I think I’ve always been interested in international business and trade. It was a great opportunity to learn all about the supply chain of products sent outside of New Zealand and the work involved.”

Donghu was struggling to pick a direct for his career, but found guidance during his studies.

“The Bachelor of Agribusiness and Food Marketing is good for people who can’t choose what part of the supply chain they want to be involved in.

“I liked all the compulsory papers. We learnt so many bits from different subjects. It took me a while, but in the end of my third year I could decide where I really want to work in the future.”

Dongho moved to New Zealand from South Korea during his high school years. He’s loved meeting new people from a wide range of backgrounds and discovering new cultures.

A highlight was getting closer to nature. Dongho got to explore many local parks around Christchurch, enjoy golf courses and visited Mr Hutt to go skiing.

“I definitely highly recommend studying at Lincoln. If you’re interested in something related to land-based industries or primary industries, then it is the best place to be.

“Lincoln really helped me to grow and succeed.”
