Cassidy Gray , Bachelor of Commerce

Recent business graduate Cassidy had a job lined up before she even finished her degree – a three-year position with MARS, a global food distributor in Auckland.

“I’m learning about various aspects of the business and at the end of the programme, I’ll move into a permanent position in the firm,” she says.

Cassidy holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Supply Chain Management and Global Business, and she loved the fact that there was so much assistance on offer at Lincoln.

“The small size of Lincoln means that the lecturers are better able to offer one-on-one help,” she says.

“With the support of lecturers and careers advisors, I had the skills and confidence to go for several really good internships and work in some awesome part-time jobs.

“The Lincoln lecturers are so generous with their time because they have a genuine interest in seeing you succeed.”

When she first started planning her degree, Cassidy was impressed with the range of subjects available.

“I enjoyed being able to study different elective papers, such as soil science and environmental management.”

She also loved the activities and events organised by the university.

“It was nice to have things to look forward to in study weeks,” she says. “Events such as Winter Ball and Garden Party were definitely highlights on the calendar.”

Above all, Lincoln helped her to grow by giving her the opportunity to meet many like-minded people and enhancing her academic abilities.

“I discovered how I learn, seek and retain information best and I believe that this will enable me to continue to grow, even now that I’ve completed my degree at Lincoln,” she says.
