Dave Hong, Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Graduate Entry)

As a lover of the great outdoors, Dave wants to design ski fields and golf courses someday.

He came from Auckland to Lincoln, attracted by the opportunities offered by the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Graduate Entry) degree, which is the perfect programme to suit his interests.

“I have another degree in design and I’m passionate about the outdoors and sports,” he says.

“It made sense to me to try and combine the two for a career.”

Dave loves the sense of community at Lincoln and takes full advantage of the wide range of outdoor activities in Canterbury. He has already joined the Lincoln’s hiking and climbing club, and is looking forward to hitting the slopes with the snow sports club.

He enjoys the small classes offered at Lincoln, which is particularly helpful when it comes to ease of access to tutors and lecturers.

Dave describes his lecturers as “very helpful”.

“They have a good mix of industry experience and academic backgrounds. It’s not too difficult to set up an appointment and ask for help.”

Another attraction of Lincoln?

“It’s close to the mountains.”
