Accessible technology focus area

Focus area 3 of the Disability Action Plan is about providing systems and content that are available and accessible to all students. Below are the associated initiatives along with a summary of progress made as of March 2025.

International accessibility standards

An accessibility standard is identified for Lincoln University websites and content, and associated training is available to content providers.

Tracking: Behind on revised delivery date.

Status: Standards have been trialled on sample web content to inform the development of training and in advance of a broader roll out. Delivery has been rescheduled to Q4 2025.

Procurement – learner technology

Learner accessibility is considered when purchasing new learner technology through consultation with accessibility experts, appropriate purchase criteria, and a review of procurement policies and practices.

Tracking: On track for revised delivery date.

Status: Procurement forms have been updated. A deeper review of Business Case and CapEx processes is underway. Delivery has been rescheduled to Q4 2025.

Assistive technologies

Disabled students are aware of assistive technologies available at Lincoln University and from external sources.
