Big turnout for Hui Whakatuwhera Open Day

27 July 2021 | Students News

More than 500 prospective students from around New Zealand, plus their many friends and family, attended Hui Whakatuwhera Open Day on Friday.

They were able to attend presentations on the programmes Lincoln offers, talk to lecturers, current students, and alumni to get first-hand accounts of the opportunities study can lead to, as well as tour the university campus and accommodation, and even have a go at gumboot throwing.

Acting Executive Director, Student Engagement and Experience, Kate Flower described it as a fantastic turnout.

“We saw a real upsurge in our domestic student enrolments in 2021, and Hui Whakatuwhera Open Day shows that strong interest in coming to Lincoln, and in taking advantage of the free study scheme we have in many postgraduate, diploma and certificate programmes, will continue into 2022.”

“If anyone couldn’t make it on Friday, I would urge them to contact us and take a campus tour with our student liaison team, and find out why they should study at Lincoln too."
